March Progress on 18 in 2018

This is my last update for March on my 18 in 2018 list. My original post can be found here.
First up is my Red and Cream Mystery BOM quilt from Fig Tree Quilts (#8 on my list). I am getting very close to finishing the quilting on this. I have one row left to finish. Here are some detail pics.

I decided to use red thread (Ruby Glide) in the center star only. All other areas are cream Glide.

Lots of feathers. They don't show at all in the checked fabric.

Next, is the Pumpkin Patch Lane BOM quilt. This is # 18 on my 18 in 2018 list. I solved the issue about bobbin thread being pulled to the top. I heard Edyta Sitar say that she always uses a Microtex 70 needle with monofilament thread.  That did the trick. I had the upper tension at zero.

I have one more pieced border to complete. This is a very cute project.

Thanks for stopping by.

Halo Medallion Ta-done!

I love spring break. I completely finished the Halo Medallion today. This project was number 1 on my 18 in 2018 list. Here is a link to my 18 in 2018 post.

Here is a pic of the last row when I finished quilting. Still on the machine. I made and attached the binding yesterday. I saved the hand sewing for today. Done. I also attached my label and the hanging sleeve.

This is the first quilt that I am satisfied with enough to consider entering it in a show. I would really like to get judges' comments.

Progress on Halo Medallion

I had another two great sewing days. I feel good about what I completed. I worked on the center medallion. I saw this corner triangle design on a quilt on Pinterest. I was able to recreate it. The first one was the easiest. It was the upper left corner.

Fingers crossed. Three more to go. Two of them are upside down.

I am pretty stoked about the way this turned out. Love those feathers. A lot of geography covered in a few strokes. Such a change from the circle flying geese blocks.

Ta da! I finished the medallion.

I am now more than half finished with this one. I should get it finished next weekend.

Hanging Minis

I have had several minis ready to be hung on the wall for quite some time. DH and I put them up in my sewing room yesterday.

The first one is mini Cherry Pie, pattern by Joanna Figuero at Fig Tree Quilts. So cute. I put it next to my TV and above my ironing station.

This wall is getting pretty full. The two on the left have been around for a long time. They are probably around 30 years old. The Amish design is hand quilted. They are both a bit faded (or maybe they are dusty). This wall is to the left of my DSM. I use the side table to trim blocks and press as I am sewing. Cut, Press, Repeat has been hung since 2016. I have two versions of mini Blossom (also from Fig Tree). One is scrappy and the other is red and cream. The top right is mini Twirl (also Fig Tree). I have a full size flimsy of Twirl which is on my 18 in 2018 list.
